It takes teamwork to build any custom home and even closer coordination for one that's off the grid., without reliance on public utilities - a green home in the strictest sense. Local Lindal dealer, Brent Hughes, proved to be an invaluable resource of expertise for the Marciante family, coordinating design, engineering, siting the home properly, and advising on durable, high quality sustainable Lindal materials.

The Marciantes had not planned to be 'off the electrical grid' but the utility company said it would cost $32,000 to bring power to the property. The decision to 'go solar' was made, so the Marciante home, barn and outbuildings are completely 'off-grid.'
