How Long Does It Really Take?

Most homes are built in 5 to 7 months. Prior to the start of construction there is a time of preparation that is usually underestimated. Plans have to be selected or created, permits and financing have to be obtained, builders have to be chosen and contracted, all before the first shovel of earth is moved. Preparation usually takes three months or more.

Atlantic Custom Homes has several ways to accelerate the process. Lindal Cedar Homes now has thousands of house plans in computer banks available to us. We have a much better chance of finding a house for you that is exactly what you want, or one that can be modified to suit you perfectly with only minor changes. That can save a lot of time, and it may even qualify you for a special discount.

We also speed the time of actual construction by connecting you or your builder with crews experienced in constructing Lindals. The Lindal home is pre-engineered. Each piece has an assigned place in the structure. For crews familiar with the system, it goes very swiftly.

After moving in there may still be a few items needing completion (finished basements, landscaping, etc.) but nobody minds those. Many of our owners enjoy doing this part themselves.

Our policy is to proceed at your speed. If you're in a hurry, we'll help you find the fastest way to your dream home. If you are looking further ahead and want to spend months refining your plans, we'll be happy to work with you at a slower pace.
