Lindal Cedar Homes' New Creative Director, Architect Felix Pretsch, Is Going On The Road
Lindal Cedar Homes' new creative director, Felix Day Pretsch, a Harvard-trained registered architect, has packed up his expertise and is off to visit North Americans looking to design a one-of-a-kind home that combines the brand's signature post and beam building system, natural materials and premium grade western red cedar with cutting edge design concepts.
"I welcome the opportunity to design homes for as many as 25 clients a year," says Pretsch, who studied under Frank Gehry and Peter Eisenman, and has worked for firms from Gensler in California to Group3 Architects in Hilton Head Island, S.C. "Walking a site with landowners lets me design a home that is a natural fit for both. In addition, clients benefit from the backing of Lindal, the original and largest manufacturer of custom cedar homes in the world, a company with access to the finest western red cedar and building materials available.
"As Lindal's creative director, I have many partners to support our custom homebuyers both at headquarters in Seattle as well as around the U.S. and Canada," adds Pretsch. "Along with all the work they do for custom homebuyers, Lindal's network of dealers can also recommend contractors experienced at building post and beam homes and can watch over a project to keep it on schedule."
Images of Felix's work and his comments about current design trends will be showcased on the Lindal Cedar Homes website over the coming weeks. See www.lindal.com/homes/gallery for updates.
