Majestic Peaks Cedar Homes Inducted in Lindal Founders Circle

Sir Walter Lindal - Founder's Circle Logo

Montrose, Colo, July 19, 2008—Sir Walter Lindal, founder and chairman emeritus of Lindal Cedar Homes, honored Brent & Stephanie Hughes of Majestic Peaks Cedar Homes with a Lindal Founder’s Circle Award at a luncheon at their model home, here today. Lindal told how he founded the company 63 years ago and shared highlights of the history of the largest and original manufacturer of custom cedar homes in the world.

“In the five years since Brent and Stephanie have been independent Lindal dealers, they have received our Premier Club Award the last four years and received the President’s Club Award as a top-10 dealer the past two,” said Lindal, who came to Montrose from Lindal headquarters in Seattle with his granddaughter, Trina Lindal. Trina is Lindal’s web manager.

“We also recognized this outstanding regional partner this January with Lindal’s Number 1 Customer Service award—out of all the dealers in the world. These building experts have been responsible for punctuating the Western Slope with homes featuring Lindal's signature expanses of glass and long spans of open space permitted by our signature post and beam building system. We can achieve such architectural silhouettes because posts, not interior walls, support a roof's weight,” added Lindal, who, at 89, still loves his work.

“Many people have never built a home before and would like a coach to help them through some or all of the design and building processes,” said Brent Hughes. “At Majestic Peaks Cedar Homes, our expertise and passion is to help homebuyers translate their lifestyles into a home. We know we provide an essential service in what is an expensive and complicated procedure.

“In addition, we have an advantage over others in the business: We have the backing of an international company, Lindal, that has honed the design and building process for top-notch efficiency. There’s hardly a challenge headquarters hasn’t already met and solved.

“The company also has access to the highest quality building products, such as kiln dried western red cedar typically unavailable at local lumberyards,” noted Hughes. “This weather and insect-resistant wood provides exceptional insulation and feels and looks like custom furniture.

“We also have a hardcover 272-page Lindal plan book, ‘Living Dreams,’ illustrated with Lindal’s home styles--classic, contemporary and traditional. It includes 90 floorplans and features homes ranging in size from 1,202 square foot cottages to 5,800 square foot estates.” The book costs $20 plus $5 postage and handling and can be ordered on line at www.lindal.com. It is also available at the Majestic Peaks Custom Homes’ office and Lindal Cedar Show Home located three miles south of Montrose at the corner of Solar Road and Hwy 550.
