Cost to build:

In California, there are specific codes that must be followed including requirements from CALFIRE, CAL GREEN, California NET ZERO, and local building codes. These codes are very specific to where the lot is located. This means it hard to give a price, but what we tend to see are costs ranging from mid-$300 to mid-$400s per square foot costs for a finished house, excluding the land and land development costs. The range is also affected by the complexity of the house design and the personal preferences of the homeowner.
