TallGrass Modern Custom Homes is an independent Lindal dealership operated by Edward J. Shannon, AIA. Edward is a Licensed Architect in Iowa and Illinois with over 25 years of custom residential expertise. Edward has designed vacation homes in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. Edward grew up in the Chicago suburbs of River Forest and Oak Park which exposed him to the early works of Frank Lloyd Wright and other prominent Chicago architects. His dad owned a lumberyard in Chicago, which introduced Edward to the construction industry at an early age. In fact, Edward was exposed to Lindal at a young age as his dad had Lindal catalogues and a high school friend had a Lindal summer house in Illinois. Edward maintains offices in Des Moines and Spirit lake, Iowa.

As an Architect, Edward feels there are many advantages to the Lindal system. The efficient use of a predictable kit of premium materials that can be delivered to any site offers both time and cost savings. The Flexibility of Lindal’s post and beam Elements System offers home owners the choice of pre-designed, custom or semi-custom plans.
