Evolve 1820 illustrates the guiding principles of the Evolve houses—connection to the natural environment, private space for each family member, designing to reduce the carbon footprint, and adaptability. We took the ever-popular Lindal Cedar 1148 house plan and refined it by converting the interior entry into a larger covered outdoor space, creating true separation of the communal and the remote private office/guest volumes. The expanded communal wing added enough space under the mono-pitch roof for a semi-private upper level, ideal for a library or office retreat with access to its own private roof deck.
