Dowling Studios

Twin sisters Julie and Leslie Dowling of Dowling Studios may manage their practice from opposite coasts, but their careers have been collaborative from the start. First as designers at the Office of Michael Graves in Princeton, New Jersey, and then with Juan Navarro Baldeweg in Madrid, Spain, they honed a talent for creating bold modern boxes that filter light while comfortably housing and enriching the activities and objects of daily family living.\

As modernists and mothers, the Dowlings have developed a reputation for crisp interiors, iconic furnishings, and an absence of the superfluous, enabled by thoughtful organization, circulation, zoning, and ample storage. Their concept of warm modern is further proven in stunning family and weekend retreats.
