Marmol Radziner

Under the leadership of founding partners Leo Marmol FAIA and Ron Radziner FAIA, the Los Angeles-based firm of Marmol Radziner is known worldwide for their modern steel and glass pavilions and for pioneering modern prefab. Clearly organized minimalist structures, transparent to nature, their stunning work has been recognized with local, state, and national AIA awards, and international design awards. Their work has been featured in a number of coffee table books on modern and prefab architecture.

Marmol Radziner’s prefab work, transparent jewels often sited in the Southern California foothills and desert, was among the first to be included in the Dwell Homes Collection along with Lindal Cedar Homes.

The Marmol Radziner Lindals

A departure for Marmol Radziner, the firm’s designs for the Lindal Architects Collaborative are warm modern post and beam structures, created of wood and glass and available worldwide.

The spirit of Marmol Radziner Lindal designs is consistent with the firm’s acclaimed portfolio. Simple rectangular volumes, placed beside each other, enclose exterior space comfortably. The volumes, with different roof heights, remain legible as individual and human-scaled elements. Flat roofs often become roof decks to enjoy the afternoon sun or the nighttime skyline. View elevations are often totally transparent, in contrast to other elevations that are impenetrable and private. Inside, one is always conscious of the beautifully framed view and separation from the elements and hectic world left behind.

“The Lindal building system gives clients the flexibility to adapt a house to their needs, while maintaining the integrity of our designs. The 68-year old structural system also easily allows us to realize the indoor-outdoor living connection that is prominent in our design philosophy.”
