Testimonials A Living Legacy
Art Stephen’s custom Lindal home is a three story post-and-beam dwelling located north of Austin in the Texas hill country. The home is built on solid rock and the daylight basement helps keep the interior cool during the 104-degree summertime weather. A ramp at the entry and large wraparound deck were added to accommodate Art’s late wife, who used a wheelchair. She dreamed of owning a Lindal home for decades. and loved to look out from the deck at the sweeping views beyond.
Arthur Stephen and his late wife built their wheelchair accessible Lindal home in a new development just north of Austin, Texas. The home has a broad entry ramp and a large wraparound deck with egress from the master bedroom. These modifications allowed Arthur’s wife, who used a wheelchair, full use of the house and deck, with its sweeping views of the Texas hill country. In 2018, Arthur plans to give the home to his children and grandchildren to enjoy.
“This house means so much to my family. It was my late wife’s desire for many years to build/own a Lindal home and it was my promise to her, during the ‘80s and ‘90s, that as retirement neared we would find the right location and build a Lindal model. The house was for my wife for the few years she had left. It was done beautifully and I’ve been very happy with it
